The family of 28-year-old Colored Felon & Women Beater Matthias Mayhorn's family awarded $1.5 Million Dollars in his fatal shooting by police

A Cook County jury has ordered the city of Chicago to pay $1.5 million to the family of a man shot and killed in 2009 by the police.

The jury returned the verdict Thursday, records show and a city spokesman confirmed Saturday.

The family of 28-year-old Matthias Mayhorn sued the city and two police officers, saying one of the cops unjustly shot Mayhorn as the officers tried to arrest him at his home in the 6300 block of South Hermitage over a domestic incident, according to attorneys Carolyn Daley Scott and Larry R. Rogers Jr., who represented the family.

The police said after the shooting that Mayhorn, a convicted felon with a history of violence who’d been convicted of domestic battery, was trying to escape through a second-story window and had pointed a gun at the police.
