COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Prosecutors said a Humboldt Park dad gunned down last summer was killed during an ongoing gang dispute over drug territory.

Samuel Walker Sr., 34, was shot to death in Humboldt Park on July 31, 2014 — just one week after his son, 13-year-old Samuel Walker Jr., was fatally shot in East Garfield Park.

Police this week arrested Kortillious Gipson, 23, who admitted he shot Walker Sr. because Walker and his friends had been threatening Gipson's family for days, Assistant State's Attorney Barry Quinn said during a bond hearing Thursday.
