State police investigating a call of gunshots fired on the Eisenhower Expressway prompted heavy traffic jams heading outbound Monday night.
About 8:13 p.m., state police responded to Interstate 290 at Kostner Avenue after calls of shots fired on the outbound lanes.
State police shut down all outbound lanes as officers investigated, prompting heavy traffic. All lanes were reopened just before 11 p.m., state police said.
As of late Monday, authorities said no gunshot victim had been found.
