An elderly colored man was shot and wounded while waiting for a CTA bus in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the South Side Tuesday morning.
The 62-year-old man was at a bus stop at 111th and Halsted streets when two armed men approached just after 5 a.m. and tried to rob him, police said.
The man suffered a graze wound to the shoulder, and police said he was in good condition at Roseland Hospital.
At least one bullet struck a CTA bus and apparently just missed the driver, who was taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said. None of the six passengers on the bus were hit, police said.
