Nine people have been wounded in separate shootings on the South and West sides since Monday afternoon, according to police.
Most recently, a 62-year-old man was wounded and a CTA bus was damaged in a shooting around 5:05 a.m. Tuesday in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.
The man was standing at a bus stop in the 700 block of West 111th Street when somebody tried to rob him, police said.
According to authorities, the man did not want to give up his property, and the attackers shot at him from the south side of 111th.
The man had a graze wound to the shoulder and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, police said.
A passing CTA bus apparently got in the middle of the shooting and was damaged. Police said nobody on the bus was injured.
